Amy Green

Dipl. Ac., L.Ac., C.SMA

With 9 years of experience as an Acupuncturist and over 26 years as a manual therapist, Amy Green brings together a deep knowledge of Western anatomy and physiology and Eastern medical theory, to create highly effective and individualized treatments.

Amy specializes in Sports Medicine Acupuncture®, a distinction held by 160 practitioners worldwide. She is also an expert in Trigger Point / Dry Needling and has mentored other acupuncturists in developing and refining these techniques.

Drawing from both classical and modern acupuncture traditions, Amy integrates multiple systems into her clinical work, including Sports Medicine Acupuncture, Balance Method, Tung Style Acupuncture, Scalp Acupuncture, Auriculotherapy, Neurofunctional Acupuncture, and Electroacupuncture Medicine. Her sessions often include complementary therapies such as cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, kinesiotaping, PNF stretches, myofascial release, and infrared heat therapy.

Using a thorough intake process—including detailed history, postural assessment, orthopedic testing, and traditional diagnostics—Amy designs treatment plans that target the root cause of pain and dysfunction. She provides a warm, private, and supportive environment where patients can speak openly about their health and well-being.

Amy’s clinical focus includes orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries, chronic pain, headaches and migraines, anxiety and sympathetic dominance, post-surgical recovery, pre-surgical “pre-hab,” women’s health, and digestive disorders.

She views Eastern and Western medicine as powerful partners, not opposites, and believes this is an exciting time where the two can work together to provide the best outcomes for patients. Amy is an active advocate for the acupuncture profession, and as a member of the Association for Professional Acupuncture in Pennsylvania, has traveled to Harrisburg to support legislative efforts. She is passionate about education and fostering cooperation within the local acupuncture community. Amy has brought in mentors, hosted, and assisted in workshops in Pittsburgh in order to promote and support orthopedic acupuncture and acupuncturists in the region.

What Amy’s Clients are Saying

“This place is an absolute godsend. I started coming here for acupuncture after a recommended it. I was having relentless sciatica pain, and the treatment my doctor prescribed wasn't helping at all. Nothing was helping. After 4 sessions with Amy, I was completely pain free for the first time in months. In addition to treatments being effective, the online booking process is super easy, the staff are all very professional, kind, hospitable, and very Covid conscious, which I appreciate immensely. Today I switched it up and got a stress relief massage because I'm stressed af. The process involved a fragrant, peppermint infused head and neck massage on a heated bed, magnesium butter massage on my hands and feet with heated mittens and booties, and the whole thing topped off with weighted blankets, a weighted eye mask, and noise canceling headphones playing earth sounds. Believe me when I tell you that if it were appropriate, I would have slept for 8 hours after because it was so relaxing. They also sell an assortment of CBD products. I'm SO GLAD this place is in my neighborhood.”

Amy is a treasure! How fortunate am I . I will forever be in debt and grateful

-Vicki H.

“I go here for acupuncture. Amy is AMAZING! I am on my third session and I haven't felt this great in years. I am so incredibly thankful for their services. Life changing! I recommend this place to everyone. Extremely clean and sanitary especially during COVID. I literally count the days to my next session. They are helping with my constant migraines, muscle pain/tension, sinus pressure and my anxiety.”

- Lucie R.

“Amy is absolutely amazing. I had a few acupuncture sessions with her and she made such an incredible difference in my back pain. She takes her time to really get to know you and understand your problems. She is so kind and patient. Simply a wonderful experience, and I cannot wait to return!”

- Alyssa P.

Amy and the team are legitimately world class. I’ve received similar treatment in big cities and Amy is the best. My body functions much better after leaving here every time. Highly recommend for anyone who has a nagging mobility or pain issue.

“I started seeing Amy for acupuncture in November 2017 for chronic sinus issues. I was desperate for relief, had seen so many doctors and specialists, had allergy testing done, tried a bunch of meds. Nothing helped. I was getting about 4-6 sinus infections a year, every couple of months. Every time was a doctor or urgent care visit, a round of antibiotics. Then it would sometimes cause a cold, and it always caused my asthma to flare up. After a couple of sessions with Amy I was already seeing relief. My constant sinus pressure and swelling was decreasing, breathing better, sleeping better. I moved into maintenance appointment status and it's been life changing! I haven't had a sinus infection since I started acupuncture, even with activities that used to cause them with no fail (cleaning my house, being outside, etc.). Not to be gross, but I used to have post-nasal drip so constant and significant that I would choke. It's GONE COMPLETELY! And no sinus infections means no colds, no asthma flare ups. I no longer use all the nasal sprays and inhalers I had daily. Now I have Amy treating my sinuses as well as allergies, sleep issues, anxiety and stress, premenstrual and menstrual pain, etc. I recommend acupuncture to everyone. I've even noticed a huge savings in my HSA spending this year without all the doctor appointments and meds. GO SEE AMY!”

“I saw Amy for acupuncture after having mild back pain for years that became very intense over the last few months. I had seen several doctors and physical therapists for the pain with no results. I felt defeated and tired of always having pain. Amy spent time with me during my first appointment to really listen to my symptoms and asked me detailed questions to help create my personalized treatment plan and try to find the root cause. She really seemed to care about helping me. Amy used cupping almost as a diagnostic tool to see where my pain was / increase circulation and then did acupuncture. After my first appointment, the pain significantly decreased. I now have no pain. Having a private session also helped me see the benefits of having a customized plan verses going to community acupuncture which is relaxing for me in general. While I have not gone to community acupuncture here, I now understand that if I have a specific need to address, private sessions are definitely the way to get results.”

- Denise R.

“I really love this place, from the calming music and tea while waiting in the lobby, to the wide variety of services. I especially am enjoying acupuncture with Amy, I have tried multiple additions to the acupuncture from electro-acupuncture, to Gua Sha. Each as rendered with gentle care and customized attention to my needs. I am a fan of this place and my body is feeling so balanced and strong as a result. Thanks for what you do!”

- Stephanie W.

Amy is AMAZING and most importantly, caring!! She took a lot of time trying to verbally identify my concerns. She was gentle and went above and beyond with suggestions, outside of her office, that she thought I would benefit from! I’m looking forward to a long, healing relationship with Amy!

I received my first ever acupuncture treatment with Amy of Pittsburgh Acupuncture & Massageworks, and to say the experience was life-changing is not an overstatement. I had acute hearing loss and severe tinnitus as well as chronic lower back pain. Amy expertly and gently guided me through the treatment, communicating what she was doing at every step and soliciting my feedback regarding my comfort and the efficacy of the work. My back pain and tightness was immediately diminished to levels I had not attained in years, and the hearing issues began to improve immediately and resolved entirely over the next few days. I am beyond grateful to have had Amy for my first acupuncture experience because it introduced me to the modality in the most positive way I could have ever hoped for. The depth and breadth of Amy's knowledge and skill as a bodyworker is unmatched. Ian performed massage to my neck, shoulder, scalp and jaw on the side of the affected ear and was able to loosen the chronically tight muscles of the area, giving me added relief and supporting the wonderful acupuncture work Amy performed. I am a massage therapist myself, and I have received work from a plethora of other providers. Amy and Ian stand head and shoulders above them all. If you need bodywork (and we all do,) go to the bodyworkers that the bodyworkers go-to. Their vast and diverse menu is guaranteed to hold a treatment or treatment combination that will work to help give you the relief and healing your body needs and deserves.

This was my first experience with an acupuncturist. Amy took her time, reviewed everything that I had put on my intake forms, listened to me as I explained my areas of pain, and developed a plan of moving forward to help with my pain in my hips and my lower back. After this first appointment, I walked out of there with the majority of my pain gone. I’m looking forward to my next session for more pain relief. I highly recommend Pittsburgh Acupuncture and Massageworks.

-Kimberly M.

First time having acupuncture. Amy is extremely knowledgeable and clearly cared a lot to ensure I received the maximum benefits possible from the treatment. I learned a lot and am excited to be running again. The office is very peaceful and staff are very friendly.

-Micheal W.

Amy is the most thorough acupuncturist I have ever been to! Highly recommend!

-Angela C

Since my first appointment, Amy has been kind, patient, understanding and thoughtful. She is incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable about heath, medicine and well being. She does her very best to accommodate and make you comfortable. Her knowledge goes far beyond needles, she’s really incredible and I can’t speak highly enough of her.

I should state that I had no previous experience with acupuncture until I tried Heal Pgh. I am a person who has Lyme disease and has dealt with chronic neck and back pain for many years. Seeing Amy over the past several months has made a big difference in my life and pain management. If you’re skeptical of acupuncture, I think that’s pretty normal, do your research and understand what it’s about and how it can help you. I have, and would encourage anyone out there dealing with pain or discomfort to give it a shot, and at the very least talk to Amy and see if she can help you like she’s helped me.

I've was in near constant pain for two years following surgery for a herniated disc. I scheduled an acupuncture appointment at the recommendation of a friend and it changed my life. Amy is an angel. Her knowledge, precision, patience, and willingness to listen and help has alleviated so much pain. I finally feel like I'm getting my life back. My only regret is that I didn't start sooner. I cannot recommend Pittsburgh Acupuncture and Massageworks enough.

-Annie S

It's hard to summarize something that is wonderful for others...I'll try. I've had significant back problems for 15 years after herniating discs in my back when I was 20. One acupuncture, needling and scraping treatment from Amy and I left the office with a back that felt totally normal for the first time in 15 years. I couldn't believe it - very thankful I gave this place a try. Now we are working on my torn hamstring and migraines - I am a believer. The staff is calm and confident - trustworthy and respectful. Highest marks all around.

-Damian M

Amy introduced me to acupuncture and I've been forever changed! Nothing else gets my muscles to release quite like this + it's a comfortable and relaxing environment. Pittsburgh Acupuncture and Massageworks is top notch and I recommend it to all of my friends.

-Lauren B.

Today was my first time getting acupuncture. Amy created an environment that was very comfortable, with clear communication as well. I was very impressed from the moment I walked in the door and to when it was time to leave. Very professional and friendly staff all around.

-Doug M.

Amy was so detailed with my initial acupuncture appointment! She really took the time to pinpoint my issues, addressed them during my first session, and came up with a long-term treatment plan based on my health goals. Amy is knowledgeable, professional, and kind. Finding the right acupuncturist for you can be overwhelming to say the least—but Amy is by far the best. I am looking forward to incorporating acupuncture back into my routine, and can easily say that Heal Pgh offers the perfect approach—whether it’s your introduction to acupuncture, or you’re getting back into it. I was thoroughly impressed by Amy and Heal Pgh.

-Clare B.

Amy is warm and welcoming. She listened carefully to my detailed description of my pain in order to understand the treatment that would help relieve it. I felt relaxed in her presence throughout the treatment. I look forward to our next appointment.
