WHAT OUR PATIENTS ARE SAYING:

Heal Pgh is easily the best place I've been to for a massage. The new building has ample parking around it (I usually park by the river/walking trail with no issue finding a spot). The building itself has both a few stairs and a ramp at the entrance (with handrails), so if you rely on a walker or mobility aid to get around, it's not a challenge to get inside! An elevator takes you up to the fifth floor, and I've never had an issue hearing pedestrian or car traffic outside because we're so high up!

If you are immunocompromised or spend time around people who are, this place is incredibly mask friendly! I've worn my mask to multiple appointments and never gotten unkind remarks or looks. On the contrary, multiple receptionists have seen my mask and immediately asked if I'd like my therapist to wear one during our session. It's a welcome change from some places I've been.

Lastly, with regards to getting a massage here, there are multiple incredibly talented therapists, but Svi is far and away my favorite. I have chronic pain and back issues, and he always manages to focus in on whatever problem areas are bothering me and have me leaving our sessions feeling much better. I can't say enough good things about how caring, calming, and accessible Heal Pgh is; definitely my top choice for massage, no question!

-Gingy G.

“I've gotten 2 massages done here (60 minutes and 90 minutes), and one Acupuncture session. The staff here is absolutely fantastic and every person I've interacted with has been wonderful.

Scheduling is a breeze and can be done all online, and they're extremely careful with COVID precautions (patients must wash hands prior to massage, masks on, strong air purifiers in every room)

My massages (a few months apart) were done to address some upper back pain. From start to finish, the staff did an excellent job listening to my issues, gaining an understanding of my history and what I've done for relief. They gave me pointers and exercises to follow to address the upper back pain for the future. The entire massage was something out of this world - having sore and tight muscles that have been causing problems for months to suddenly be addressed, stretched, massaged, is something else. I honestly don't know how they do it but to pinpoint specific muscle fibers and knead/stretch them, is amazing to say the least. Amy performed my acupuncture session.

Walking in, I had no idea what to expect but she put my mind at ease by explaining the process and what acupuncture serves to achieve. Again, this was used to address some upper back pain/trouble sleeping at night. Like the massage therapists, she listened to my history, what I've tried, what my daily schedule looks like, what causes additional, less pain, etc. She started around my shoulders and then moved to my upper back. The process is very much a back and forth between you and the acupuncturist - they'll feel around for trigger points and you let them know when they've found one. Once one has been found, she'll use a very thin needle to address that point. The feeling of that happening is wild, in a good way, all it feels like is there's a bird over your trigger point flapping it's wings. The first couple she hit around my shoulder immediately dropped my pulled-forward shoulder back into place. I was sore the next day, as she mentioned would happen, but the next few days I noticed a definite improvement - much more reduced neck pain, the upper back feels less tense during the day, and my shoulder doesn't feel out of alignment! She provided me with a list of exercises to do throughout the day to also help strengthen my back muscles.

If you've never had a professional massage done, or acupuncture, I absolutely cannot recommend it enough, but definitely make sure it's done by anyone at Pittsburgh Acupuncture and Massageworks! Everyone here is absolutely excellent and you can tell they take an immense about of pride in what they do and it definitely shows - they sincerely care about seeing you get better!”

-Naveen S.

“Such a great experience…every time! They are sincerely concerned with the patients’ well being and their level of expertise is a necessity for all to experience.”

— Cherise R.

Got a 2 hour massage for my mother and then decided to treat myself as well. My mother raved about the experience. I have a number of neck and shoulder problems. I go to a physical therapist twice a week. Today, when I went, my PT told me my range of motion was very much improved. I enjoyed my experience very much and will be using their services again.

“I've been meaning to book in for acupuncture for some time (I used to have acupuncture regularly some years back), and today I met with Amy. I walked in stressed, run down, and pretty much feeling resigned to wearing hoodies and sloppy leggings for the rest of my life. 90 minutes later, I practically BOUNCED out.

My only regret was waiting so long to book a session with Amy. It wasn't just the needles or the Gua Sha which Amy did on my back, but the genuine understanding and knowledge that Amy has for what you need. The aches, brain fog, fatigue and "loss" of former athletic ability, seemed to disappear during our consultation, as Amy begun to establish connections with my symptoms (even minor things), and started a plan for healing. This practice is EXCELLENT. Although my first time with Amy, I already see Charles for massages and cupping.

If you haven't tried cupping, have been working at home and slouch over a laptop, I highly recommend it - and definitely book Charles! If you feel awkward or nervous about massages - don't. Charles is welcoming, highly professional - and honestly like visiting a friend. Everyone at the practice is super friendly, and if you can't get a booking, get on the wait list - they are excellent at contacting you (thank you Jeff!).”

-Kathryn G.

Super friendly and knowledgeable! I feel loose as a goose and felt very comfortable in their hands!

-David J

Our experience was very informative, and pleasant at the same time. Our bodies are feeling better and we will return as recommended. Thank you for accommodating myself and my partner which made it even better.

-Kimberley R.

A clean, modern space. My massage was outstanding. I visited from out of town and will keep this place on my list for future visits! Location was great & staff all friendly and professional.

-Anne H.

I have been a customer of this business for about three years now - for both acupuncture and massage. The space is beautiful and relaxing. You feel relaxed the minute you walk in the door. The staff is prompt in greeting you and very courteous. They get you settled in right away and I've never waited more than a few minutes to get placed in the room. Amy, Ian and all staff are the best at what they do - I highly recommend them.
